Gerrit Schulze is an associate attorney licensed in the State of Texas. Mr. Schulze focuses on both transactional and civil litigation, directing a majority of his practice to family, consumer, and business law. Mr. Schulze believes that the most vital part of legal representation is to build a relationship based on mutual trust by putting the client first.
Prior to joining Shumway Van, Mr. Schulze spent several years representing injured, disabled, or underprivileged individuals in their attempts to receive Social Security benefits. He received his Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law and his Bachelor of Business from New Mexico State University.
Mr. Schulze in actively involved in the non-profit community in San Antonio. He spends his free time volunteering with a non-profit to help raise money and awareness for effective, non-toxic cancer treatments. He enjoys working on engines and restoring old cars, as well as acting in the Association of Corporate Counsel’s South/Central Texas Chapter’s ethics conference: Ethics Follies ®.
Most noteworthy is his diverse background. Mr. Schulze was born in the United States and spent his early years living in Germany. While he considers Texas his home, Mr. Schulze is proud to maintain dual citizenship. Mr. Schulze is trilingual with native fluency in German and English, and most conversational Spanish. As a first generation American, the son of German immigrants, Mr. Schulze understands the complexities of the law and the value of the freedom it allows us to experience in the United States.
